Examination of Conscience

Before you begin
In quiet, before confession. This looks over the time since your last good confession.
Ask the Holy Ghost for light to know your sins, for true sorrow, and for courage to confess them plainly.
For each grave sin, remember the kind and about how often. Do not hide what is mortal. If you are unsure whether a sin is grave, confess it, and say that you are unsure. Lesser sins may be confessed as well.
When the questions are finished, say the Act of Contrition.
